New Big-Boy Bed

Ashton finally got the new big-boy bed that he's been waiting for! Of course dragon bedding was completely necassary. Aaron and I are also excited about the bigger bed because this means more room for family snuggles!

Happy Birthday Grandma Charlotte

Aaron's mother, Charlotte, lives in Wyoming. We knew she'd be alone on her birthday so we surprised her by showing up unannounced. Cokeville, Wyoming is not the place to do anything unannounced in the middle of winter. We showed up to heaps of snow and her driveway lane not quite plowed yet. We attempted to drive through the snow only to get stuck...badly. So, we got out of the car with a bouquet of balloons, walked up the lane, through the 3 foot deep snow, and found ourselves trying to break in the house because Charlotte was gone! Not too much later we got a hold of her on the phone, she picked us up in her 4-wheel drive vehicle, and we made our way to the local restaurant. Little did we know that we'd be in that restaurant, for hours, snowed-in through a blizzard. During this blizzard we found a snowplow truck that took Aaron back up to the house to dig out our car and clear the lane, but by the time we made it back to the house the lane was once again in need of a plow. We made it up to the house and inside eventually, but all this made for a fun adventure! We love you Mom.

Birthday

Alicia is now 32. We celebrated as a family by going out to breakfast at Village Inn. Seems like we have a lot of birthdays in a short period of time! November, December, January and our birthdays are covered!

Snow Is Falling All Around

Playing in the snow is fun, but even more fun when it's with cousins!

A Time to Reminisce

I created this collage of my FaceBook status updates in 2010. I liked this because I have been quoting Ashton on FB so that we could remember the funny things he says, which are a lot! I love how charismatic and witty my son is. There are rarely ever any dull moments in our home with him around. I know one day he will realize his "cuteness" and the humorous sayings won't be as innocent, but I am so happy to have them written down for future reminiscing!

Merry First Christmas

This next year will be full of "first holidays", but none more exciting than Christmas! Our Christmas was lovely. It has always been an important holiday for me and this year was even more special being able to spend it for the first time with our new little family. Santa was generous, as well as the grandparents! Ashton was happy and so were we!

Now He's 5

Ashton had a happy birthday! Even though it is December, he wanted to go swimming! So off to the rec center pool we went! He invited his cousin Emma, his friends Ashton and Dominic from school, Zoe and Kalissa from Miss. Ginger's, and Parker and Tyler from church. He wanted to have a "How to Train Your Dragon" party theme, so it was :) They had pizza and cake, then opened presents. Ashton did end up getting the one gift he had wished for for weeks, a fire-breathing night fury! After partying we jumped in the pool! What a fun party for a winter birthday!
