Merry First Christmas

This next year will be full of "first holidays", but none more exciting than Christmas! Our Christmas was lovely. It has always been an important holiday for me and this year was even more special being able to spend it for the first time with our new little family. Santa was generous, as well as the grandparents! Ashton was happy and so were we!

Now He's 5

Ashton had a happy birthday! Even though it is December, he wanted to go swimming! So off to the rec center pool we went! He invited his cousin Emma, his friends Ashton and Dominic from school, Zoe and Kalissa from Miss. Ginger's, and Parker and Tyler from church. He wanted to have a "How to Train Your Dragon" party theme, so it was :) They had pizza and cake, then opened presents. Ashton did end up getting the one gift he had wished for for weeks, a fire-breathing night fury! After partying we jumped in the pool! What a fun party for a winter birthday!

A Dragon Halloween

Ashton is slightly obsessed with the movie characters from "How to Train Your Dragon", his favorite being the Night Fury named "Toothless". So, naturally he wanted to be a dragon for Halloween, and we suprised him with Toothless pumpkin designs and a Mario faced pumpkin. Our first married holiday was fantastic!

A Perfect Beginning

We were married October 16, 2010. Millcreek canyon has been one of our favorite places to escape the valley, and during our outings we have been admiring a quaint little gazebo on the edge of a cliff up in the mountain. With some effort we were able to receive permission to use this gazebo for our ceremony! Our perfect place, perfect scenery, perfect weather, perfect timing.

It was a gorgeous day with fall in full splendour! We met up with our parents and the bishop at my parent's home, where I played a piano solo for Aaron before heading out to our perfect destination. The ceremony, performed by Kimo Esplin, was also perfect. Lovely. Spiritual. He talked about how beautiful our perfect place was, high on a mountain peak, and how temples were originally built in the tops of mountains, that our place was indeed perfect for such a ceremony. We were so full of happiness and were able to share that with our parents and son.

Perfect day. Perfect love. Perfect Beginning.
